Companies I Like
LaMav – LaMav is an organic skincare and makeup line out of Australia and I love their products. Browse their products here: www.lamav.com. Some of my favorites are their Purifying Toner (helps balance my oily and dry areas), Jojoba Beads & Argan Oil Exfoliating Scrub (gentle on my sensitive skin), and Daily Vitamin-C Brightening Serum (helps to dampen my redness and irritated skin). If you have been following my skin journey, you know how I have been struggling with acne for years. While their products don’t specifically address acne, I find them helpful and mild on my skin and very reasonably priced. None of my statements are medical claims, they are simply my experience.
Juice Beauty – I love, LOVE, Juice Beauty. They are a skincare and makeup company and their products are convenient to find in the United States at ULTA Beauty stores. While U.S. standards of “organic” aren’t as stringent as other countries, I do like the fact that most of their products have the USDA organic seal. Here are some of my favorites: STEM CELLULAR Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment (absorbs very well for me), Cleansing Milk (so soft and silky on my skin), and PHYTO-PIGMENTS Flawless Finishing Powder (gives me a nice matte look that I like). And, they do have an acne line. None of my statements are medical claims, they are simply my experience.
innersense – They are an organic hair care company with some wonderful products. Their Color Radiance Daily Conditioner really helps detangle my hair in the shower. And their Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner and Quiet Calm Curl Control help me manage my frizzy mane. You can find them here: innersense. None of my statements are medical claims, they are simply my experience.
Think Dirty – Think Dirty is a phenomenal app for learning about the toxicity levels in our health and beauty products. You can search by product name or even bar code if you’re out shopping. It will rate the product on a “Dirty Meter” between 0 and 10. You can then drill down to the “Ingredients” to learn what ingredients drove the number on the Dirty Meter and learn the health impacts and other helpful information. AND (my favorite part!) you can click on “Our Picks” to get their recommendations for similar products that are in the “clean” category (between 0 and 3). This app has helped me change over to some amazing, clean products (from companies like LaMav, Juice Beauty, and innersense). Definitely a big fan! They are affiliated with the Breast Cancer Fund and don’t appear to be affiliated with any specific brand which makes me feel good that they aren’t getting paid by a brand to recommend their products. Check them out!
